Kansas QSO Party: August 29-30, 9am-9pm Saturday and 9am-3pm Sunday. Bob Harder handed out the rules and Kansas County Map, which are also available on the website http://www.ksqsoparty.org/ Kent Stutzman, who does the website for the QSO Party, was not here due to recovering from recent surgery. Bob gave some information about what's being planned, said at this point there are operators who have volunteered to cover 103 counties, leaving only two counties currently unassigned (Chase and Republic). Mobile stations will cover a lot of the remote counties. Bob encouraged everyone to participate, whether from home or as a rover. There are at least four logging programs that currently support the Kansas QSO Party, including N1MM and NA (files available on the website). Bob showed his own time line for the 39 counties he will be rovering through. QRP Radio: Ray Franz showed off and passed around a tiny QRP radio he built and mounted in an Altoids box. Said it took him about a year to complete it. MCC Flatlanders Bike Ride: We have been requested to help again, September 19. Registration starts around 7am, with the ride starting at 8am. There will be three courses of approximately 35, 45, and 65 miles. Depending on amateur participation, we will try to cover 4-6 SAG stations. Jeanne and Russel believe they will be able to help, and Dan and Joe and David will also help. David Godshall will coordinate. Repeater: Mike was not here to report on the status of the second repeater being sent in for tuning. Meeting adjourned at 8:03pm. -- David Godshall, Secretary/Treasurer |
