The March 16, 2010 Newton Amateur Radio Club meeting was held in the basement of the Newton Public Library. The meeting was called to order by Vice President Joe Palmer at 7:10PM. In attendance were Charles Meisinger, Joe Palmer, Justin Reed with Karen Winter, Kent Stutzman. Visitor at the meeting was jerome Kahn, ACØRL. The February minutes were read and accepted. The Treasurers report: Took in dues of $145 at the February meeting, paid PO Box Rent of $40, leaving $579.64 in checking and $30 petty cash Justin mentioned that while waiting to do the tower work that the 146.61- repeater could be worked in to the K-Link system. Justin and Mike will need to get keys for the gate around the tower to enter the building. Justin has been controlling the K-Link build-up since 1993. There are presently 2 Bills before the US House and Senate. Both bills address Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Enhancement Act of 2009 (Referred to House Committee after being Received from Senate), while HR-2160 still is not moving forward in the House.
